Bounce - Education Service

Bounce is the result of a service design project developed alongside Wellington organization Chalkle, with the objective to take advantage of digital media and local communities to facilitate engaged learning in Young Minds.

Bounce is targeted at children aged 12-18 years old - specifically those who don't fit well into the standard curricular system - and aims to engage this audience in learning outside of school in an active, engaging, and practical way. The online service is designed to be interactive and playful, drawing young users in and enabling them to take control of their own education based on their own interests.

The Bounce service is primarily web-based, using technology as a means to connect people, but quickly stems from the digital environment encouraging groups to learn together in person. Initial classes, or ‘Events,’ would be shaped around what Young Minds want and facilitated by a team of trained Bounce team members. Feedback then becomes a crucial component of how the system works allowing it to grow with its users and empower them to take control of their learning. While the service matures classes are designed to become more autonomous, bringing Young Minds and external Facilitators together to each benefit from one another.
