Gyu Stool
Completed as part of a university furniture design project, Gyu takes inspiration from the Japanese art of origami and receives its structure from folds. The name 'Gyu' means 'milk' in Japanese and refers to the abstract milk carton-like form of the stool.
The aim of this paper was to make use of digital fabrication methods within Wellington's Fablab to make a piece of furniture for the lab.
Gyu is cut on a CNC router and minimizes fabrication tools, cutting time, material and assembly components in order to simplify the build process for anyone to use.
